This seminar will review the recent history of volatile development performance in Latin America, focusing on efforts to reverse the most fundamental of the region’s economic challenges, including high levels of poverty and inequality, and low levels of productivity. The seminar’s methodological approach draws particularly upon development economics and international political economy, and will emphasize critical thinking, group work, presentation skills and the intelligent use of varied sources in preparing your work.
